Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 11, 2026
The short version: Yorick collects no data. None. There is no account, no server, no analytics, and no third-party SDK in the app. Your quiz answers and your result never leave your iPhone.
1. Who we are
Yorick: Death Clock & Lifespan ("Yorick", "the app") is an iOS application published by Levin Schwab. This policy describes how the app handles information — which, in Yorick's case, means describing what it deliberately does not do.
2. Data we collect
We collect no data. Yorick's App Privacy label on the App Store is "Data Not Collected". Specifically:
- No personal information. The app has no sign-up, no account, and never asks for your name, email address, or any identifier.
- No quiz data leaves your device. Your answers to the lifestyle questions, your life-expectancy estimate, and your death date are computed and stored entirely on your iPhone. They are never transmitted anywhere.
- No analytics or tracking. The app contains no analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting SDK of any kind — not a single third-party SDK is included.
- No servers. We operate no backend for the app. The app makes no network requests to us, because there is nothing to send and nowhere to send it.
- No cookies, no fingerprinting, no tracking as defined by Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework. The app never shows an ATT prompt because it never tracks.
3. On-device processing
All calculations — baseline mortality from SSA life tables, country adjustments from UN data, and lifestyle effect sizes from the cited studies — are performed locally on your device using data bundled inside the app. Deleting the app deletes everything.
4. Purchases
The optional one-time purchase "Yorick Pro" is processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive your name, payment details, or any personal information from a purchase. Purchase records and restoration are handled by Apple under the Apple Privacy Policy.
5. Children
Yorick is not directed at children. Because the app collects no data from anyone, it also collects no data from children.
6. Your rights
Privacy laws such as the GDPR and CCPA grant rights over personal data that has been collected about you. Since Yorick collects and stores no personal data off-device, there is nothing for us to access, correct, export, or delete on your behalf. All of your data lives on your device, under your control.
7. Changes to this policy
If we ever change how the app handles data, we will update this policy and the "Last updated" date above before any change takes effect. Any future version of Yorick that collected data would also be required to declare it in its App Store privacy label.
